Today, Independence day (4th July 09), I completed a song titled ‘Touch that Sky’. The song depicts how diversity, within some eyes, can be perceived as being something negative, alien, and unnatural. Nevertheless, ‘Touch that Sky’ recognises that diversity and differences sets those apart from the sheep and all their followers. ‘Touch the Sky’ tells all ‘Complicated Stereotypes and those who exhibit individual tendencies to
“stand tall with your head up high, because you know they’re gonna love you when you touch that sky”.
The song in full when interpreted means;
Because you have always reflected difference people never understood you, refused to acknowledge you and refused to accept you. However, now that you are successful and you have peaked because of your individuality, they now see that others have accepted you and as a result; they too welcome you with open arms.
‘Touch that Sky’ is within its production stage and is on the verge of being recorded. So watch this space.
